beckett park, balwyn
/Now Mamma wants to know where the indoor trampolines, the massive climbing pyramids and huge sandpits with two sets of diggers were, way back in the 90s? Of course these new age kids get to have all the fun in this well loved wooden playground.
Beckett Park is set in the most beautiful of leafy suburbs - Balwyn. There is plenty of space to set up for a party on a rug or if you are lucky, snag a picnic table. There is plenty of natural shade and we love the huge pine trees all around.
When you visit the playground be sure to climb the Centenary Tower with the gang and check out the view of its beautiful surrounds. But of course, the little ones will be dying to explore the wooden tower, cross the drawbridges and get lost in the maze in the playground. The play space is nice and big with lots of different corners to explore and the soft fall seems to be kept in great condition.
Mamma's special mention: There are two additional garden areas that border the park, the Indigenous Flora Reserve, and The Maranoa Gardens. The Gardens have set open times but are a wonderful place to wander amongst the trees and spot some flowers - if you love a tea party theme … this garden could actually be the perfect spot!
